We are there for you worldwide. Every location and its teams are important to us, so we would like to introduce them to you.
At our North American Headquarters in Reading, Pennsylvania we have ca. 60 great colleagues. The average age of our staff is around 34 years old. We are a young team and for many FMS is the first employer in their life right after college. Most of our colleagues are staying multiple years with FMS which gives proof of our great work environment. We have colleagues from 7 nationalities, among them 5 Germans and 2 German interns, which makes our office a diverse working environment.
In summer we host an annual "Redneck BBQ party" in our parking lot. Every employee brings their own food and drinks to this event to share with the team. For Christmas we have our "ugly sweater" contest and for Halloween we dress up in costumes and the colleagues bring in their kids in office trick or treating which highlights our family friendly work environment.
We have Export and Import coordinators, accounting coordinators, supervisors, managers for the according departments, and IT personal as well as the board members are located in Reading.
Our one-team attitude and good natured spirit creates a positive and productive work environment that allows the employees to maintain a healthy work/life balance.
I am an Export Coordinator in the Forest Products Export department which handles shipments from the US for international customers. I am also the trainer and mentor for the new employees.
I started with FMS in 2014 when I immigrated from Germany to the US. I recently switched to a pricing position and I am excited to see where my FMS journey will continue to take me.
There are many reasons why FMS is a great employer for me. They offer a great health care program, the spirit in our office is very friendly and the management is approachable at any time. We all work together as a a team to achieve our goals and to enjoy our job. As a foreigner, I was welcomed and treated very well at FMS. I had the chance to work and meet people from other offices who participated in exchange programs and therefore widened my horizon a lot.
